Urgent: Stay Strong & Stay Calm – LACC Swap Meet Update

Dear LACC Swap Meet Vendors,

I want to take a moment to address an important situation that may unfold tomorrow (Sunday February 16th). There are indications that street vendors who are selling illegally in the immediate vicinity of the Swap Meet may attempt to block the streets in an effort to disrupt our market, causing severe hardship for all of us.

What You Need to Do:

Stay calm and stand strong.

We DO encourage you to speak with the media. Share the truth about what’s happening and how this affects you as a legal vendor.

We do NOT want you speaking with the outside street vendors or anyone other than the media. Do not engage with activists or those attempting to disrupt the Swap Meet.

If you encounter any issues, report them immediately to authorities.

I am baffled by this development. We have done nothing to provoke such an attack, yet it appears to have originated through CD13 and the staff of Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez.

I have already contacted LAPD, the City Attorney, all local media, the LACC Foundation, and CD13 regarding this issue.

As of 12:30 PM on Saturday, February 15th, I have not received a single response.

This is Your Swap Meet – Speak Up!

The LACC Swap Meet is too essential to allow an unjustified attack to prevail. If you care about your business and the integrity of this market, now is the time to make your voice heard!

We will not be intimidated. Stay strong, and I will keep you updated.
