LACC Swap Meet Forced to Close Temporarily Amid Unconstitutional ICE Raids; Announces Launch of LACC Flea Market to Continue Supporting LACC Foundation

Hello LACC Swap Community!

In a deeply troubling turn of events, the LACC Swap Meet, a beloved institution serving Los Angeles for nearly 30 years, has been forced to temporarily close its doors due to the unconstitutional and aggressive ICE raids sweeping across Los Angeles. This unprecedented government overreach has created a climate of fear and uncertainty, targeting the very immigrant communities that have built and sustained this city and our nation.

The United States is a country founded by immigrants, yet today, we are witnessing a brutal attack on the very fabric of our democracy as families and individuals are hunted without prejudice. We are heartbroken to announce this temporary closure, but we cannot in good conscience continue operations while our vendors, customers, and community members are under threat.

The closure of the LACC Swap Meet not only disrupts a vital community gathering space but also jeopardizes the revenue stream that supports the LACC Foundation—a nonprofit that provides essential resources to over 17,000 students annually. In response, the organization is pivoting to ensure the Foundation’s mission continues.

Stay Strong!
