Important Notice to All LACC Swap Meet Vendors

Dear Vendors,

We want to address a critical issue affecting the integrity and future of our swap meet community. Effective immediately, any vendor found selling on the street outside the LACC Swap Meet will no longer be permitted to participate within the swap meet. This policy is non-negotiable and will be strictly enforced.

We want to make it clear: we are not and never have been anti-street vendors. In fact, we are very much pro street vending—but it must be done lawfully. Setting up around our swap meet is in violation of City Ordinances and has cost us millions in revenue. This directly impacts the 17,000 students who depend on the LACC Foundation, as well as the street vendors who participate within the swap meet and have seen their sales plummet due to those who refuse to play by the rules.

Over the past 3 and a half years, we have worked tirelessly with the City of Los Angeles, Councilman Soto-Martinez, and the Street Vendor Advocacy Groups to resolve ongoing issues related to illegal street vending in the “Immediate Vicinity” of our swap meet. Unfortunately, despite exhausting every possible avenue, our concerns have not been addressed, and we continue to be singled out as the only swap meet left unprotected by city enforcement.

As a result, we will be filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles in the coming weeks. Our goal is to uphold the rules and ensure a fair, safe, and successful environment for everyone who follows them.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Let’s continue to support each other and preserve the integrity of the LACC Swap Meet.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our team directly.
