Important Vendor Notice!

We work hard to create a safe and fun environment for our staff, vendors and attendees. We have increased the number of attendees and given the swap meet new life but unfortunately there are some vendors who feel being abusive is okay. It is not.

Today I had to ban 6 vendors from being able to return to the LACC swap meet. This is not something I do easily.

Yesterday a vendor in a van ran into my security officer and knocked her to the ground then drove away. We have filed a police report and he will be charged with Hit and Run.

Today 4 male vendors unhappy with being told then must wait to bring their cars in accosted a female staff person and screamed at her for simply following our instructions as we are committed to keeping everyone safe especially after the hit and run on the lot yesterday. They demanded to speak with Taylor and truly scared an LACC college student who is on our staff and this also is not okay.

This behavior is never accepted at any event.

Today more than 20 vendors had to be told to put a mask on. Two of them have been banned from coming back for being confrontational about our mandate to keep people safe! This is a city and LACC requirement.

I have said this before and will keep saying it, we are not trying to ban vendors from selling. We want everyone who sells at LACC Swap to have the opportunity to continue selling every week but we will NOT accept vendors being abusive to our staff, demanding to have things done their way, breaking rules and creating a hostile environment.

Please understand that perhaps the new LACC Swap Meet is not for everyone. We respect that you may not want to follow the rules, may not want to wait for us to decide when its safe to enter or break down and if you can not follow these simple guidelines, or follow these rules, you can sell at other markets that may tolerate these things. We will not.

Over the next couple of days we will be notifying a number of vendors that they are on probation for violating the mask mandate. If we have to repeatedly warn vendors to keep their masks on then those vendors will not be allowed to sell with us. Our goal is to grow our customer attendance, have vendors make more sales, all while doing our part to keep everyone safe during the pandemic.

Thank you.

This is really sad that people are trying to come and make a living and others decide to break the rules. As for the mask there shouldn’t be a problem with having their mask on. COVID is something serious. People are getting really sick and dying. Running over a person is a crime. This shouldn’t be happening this is a business. It’s really sad people are acting this way. I hope everything gets back to normal and people respect the owners rules.

Thank you for doing what is right. What is going to be done about the clients that walk around with their mask off, under their chin, and they are not eating.
What is being done about certain vendors that speed through the spots as if they are on the freeway when there’s customer’s still walking and shopping.

I’d like to commend the entire staff for doing an amazing job. It’s not easy because some of the vendors are not willing to change and are difficult. Thank you!!!!
